Many people dream of being able to go deep sea fishing and to catch that big one. This dream can become a reality with the efficient shark fishing Cape Cod provides. There are many different charters that guarantee a catch of some or other species of fish as well as ensuring that one has a great time doing it.

The Magellan Fishing Charter knows which location would be best suited for the different species. They say the best bait is just east of Chatham and south of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. The most abundant waters are around Cape Cod because of the warm and cold waters that mix.

They are mainly meat eaters and the larger ones tend to enjoy sea lions and seals. Some of them will even eat sea turtles and otters if they are in the vicinity of their hunting grounds. They do prefer to eat live prey but have no problem feeding on dead carcasses if food is scarce.

The Goblin shark is not very often seen as they live well below the surface. They have a very unusual shape and those that have been lucky enough to spot them have report that they look like they are more disabled and disfigured. They have a long protrusion for their nose and this is believed to help them locate prey. They seem to feed on crabs as well as sting rays and mollusks and any other organism that lives at the bottom of the ocean.

There are many charters that offer one to go out onto the sea and do some deep sea fishing. It need not only be shark fishing but Haddock and Cod as well as Tuna and Striped Bass and Bluefish. The Big Fish II Charters offer an exciting adventure and have over thirty years of experience in taking out avid fisherman.

Their boat is a thirty five foot Duffy and is custom made especially for fishing in deeper waters. The engine is four hundred and ninety horsepower and the top cruising speed is twenty knots. The cabin has been fitted with very comfortable bunks and there is plenty of seating in the wheel house. There is also place below deck where Giant Bluefin Tuna as well as Shark can be kept.

The boat receives annual United States Coast Guard safety inspections and also has an inflatable life raft. All life jackets will fit an adult as well as children and there are fire extinguishers and signal flairs on board as well. A searchlight and first aid kits are also stashed away in case of emergencies.

People are asked to bring rain jackets and pants as well as warm clothing as the further out to sea one gets the cooler the air can become. Also do not forget the sun screen and sun glasses. Shoes are a must as no one will be allowed to fish bare foot and definitely no high heels. All fish that are caught will be filleted by the Captain and must be packed into zip lock freezer bags and put into a large cooler that is packed with ice.
